Fighting with Schel!
Donation protected
Hi everyone, I’m creating this fundraiser for my Uncle Schel who was recently diagnosed with Stage IV Lymphoma. We have no idea how much money any of his treatments will cost at this point so the amount is just an estimate to get started!

The funds will benefit many people including Schel for his treatments, food, and so he doesn’t have to worry about getting back to work! Schel’s children Schel Jr and Jazmin live on opposite coasts in Oregon and Rhode Island; your donation can also be used to help fund their flights to come out and visit him!
We also have a meal train set up through caring bridge to provide schel with meals, which we also provide updates on Schel’s journey here: https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/schelsfight
Here’s a little more information on his journey, written by Jazmin (Schel’s daughter) which you can also read more on his caring bridge :)
“On June 30th my dad went to the emergency room . He was having pain in his legs, and was unable to walk. Although he knew there was something going on, he did not expect to receive the news he did. The doctors in the emergency room ordered tests and scans; they found his lymph nodes were extremely swollen and they also found a tumor pressing on his spinal cord. There was talk of surgery right away, but as the day progressed the doctors became more convinced they were dealing with cancer. They deferred to the oncologists to direct next steps. Over the course of the next 1-2 weeks more tests and biopsies were done. On July 12th, he officially received a diagnosis: Large B Cell Lymphoma, stage IV. Thankfully, his oncologist has said that this kind of cancer normally responds well to chemo, and the odds are in his favor right now. They have not detected that the cancer has spread anywhere else, so far. Time will tell how his body responds to the chemo, but we are praying for minimal side effects. His pain has been managed better, so he is able to walk right now. He began chemo on July 18th. He will have chemo every 3 weeks for the next 6 months. Every day is different as his body adjusts to the chemo, the meds, and the cancer.”
Our family would appreciate anything you’re able to provide, whether that be helping through donations or sending prayers. Thank you for taking your time to read and if you’re not able to donate just sharing the link on any social media would be amazing and appreciated more than words!
P.S. We also have bracelets for Schel! If you’d like a bracelet to support him through this hard time please contact us through the caring bridge and we will find a way to get one (or more) to you!
