Fighting with Renee I.R.L.

Donation protected
You’ve probably fought with Renee online. She called out your bullshit, enlightened you on the realities of poverty and oppression, sent a meme that blew your mind with its brilliance and absurdity. Or she was in Facebook jail and still trolled your ass with one of her alternate profiles. She fought with your racist uncle or fascist grandma. You should’ve thanked her for it, and now you can in a meaningful, needed way!

Maybe you’ve been one of the many who’ve been on the receiving end, not of Renee’s intelligent fighting, but of her generosity and hard work. She went above and beyond with a thoughtful favor, gave you her last wad of cash, took you in and dusted you off when life kicked you. She knows kickings, and the desperate need for friends when everything goes to hell. Renee has taken in others’ kids, fought for and lost a sister, known every kind of hardship, but still gives with no thought to repayment. She pours her self out for friends, acquaintances and strangers. You should thank her, and now you can!

Renee fought for months to get a diagnosis. Always vocal, she has had to advocate for the least bit of attention to her symptoms which doctors blew off and procrastinated on. Just this month, after debilitating symptoms and still no diagnosis, Renee went off. On March 11, doctors finally agreed to perform a biopsy on a mass in her brain and on March 28, they confirmed it is a wide-spread glioma that they delayed to diagnose or treat. They will begin treatments of chemo and radiation to shrink and then remove as much of the tumor as possible.

Renee has been the sole breadwinner for her family which includes a special needs nephew she raises as her son, and her two grade school age children. Her spouse, grown kids and grandkids also rely on her materially and emotionally. During this time as her symptoms have grown worse and her energy lessened, she has been unable to continue her housecleaning business. Renee needs to focus on her health and the continued battle to advocate for care.

WE need to make sure her rent is paid so she and her family don’t get evicted. WE need to feed and care for her kids. WE need to pick up the tasks she has done to hold everyone and everything together this long. If you’ve fought with or alongside Renee, she needs you to fight with and for her now, in real life. Please give with Renee-level generosity. She would for you.
