Almost two years ago, while seven months pregnant with Colette, Paige was diagnosed with stage two cervical cancer. Colette had to be born a month early via cesarean so that Paige could heal and go through her first round of chemo and radiation. After a few grueling months of treatment, while adjusting to motherhood at the same time, Paige overcame cancer. Shortly after, she was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia. She went through pregnancy and chemo in such a short time span, and that is what likely caused her body to develop this disease that makes it impossible for her to create the blood supply and platelets she needs to survive. Paige went on a trial treatment which included immunotherapy and a few difficult hospitals stays. Her body responded well and her platelet count was climbing, so we thought she was finally out of the woods. In the fall, she started experiencing debilitating pain in her left leg, and the pain has only worsened since. It took months for doctors to take her seriously enough to schedule an MRI, and once they did, they discovered a large mass intertwined in her muscle and blood-vessels on the left side of her uterus. After multiple painful procedures and biopsies, Paige was diagnosed with cervical cancer for a second time. We've been told that it is not curable. At this point, the doctors are just looking for ways to treat it so it doesn't continue to spread.
For those that know Paige, we have witnessed the immense courage and strength she possesses. She is a fighter through and through. She tends to try and fight battles on her own, but we want to let her know she is far from being alone in all of this. While she continues to fight Aplastic Anemia and Cervical Cancer, we ask that our community support her in any way possible, whether that be a financial donation, encouragement, or prayers. We appreciate all of you, and we are so thankful she is not alone in this fight!
