McKenna Shea is a rambunctious two year old who has never let anything stop her, and never will! On February 15th, after a whirlwind of 24 hours, Kenni's parents, Meagan and Mike, were given the news that she has a form of ovarian cancer. This news came with the knowledge of a very large tumor (14 cm) and some smaller ones in her abdomen. On Monday, 2/18/19, Kenni underwent surgery for the 1st time. The amazing doctors were about to remove 90% of the main tumor as well as a couple other cancerous implants. They were able to keep one ovary but had to take 5 inches of her small intestine. A week later, Kenni was official diagnosed with Stage 3 Yolk Sac Ovarian Cancer. She started chemotherapy on 2/27/19. On June 12, 2019, Kenni got to ring the bell and was announced NED (no evidence of disease!). This is the biggest and best we could ask for. Meagan and Mike are both educators in Georgia. Kenni also has two amazing older brothers (ages 4 and 6) which makes this family of five a little tight on finances. Meagan is my best friend, and so Kenni is one of my children at heart. I hope that raising this money will help to ease their worries as they will be taking time off for scans and blood work.  Anything will help, including prayers. God is good! We can’t say “Thank you” enough to everyone for all of the love, support, and prayers that our sweet Kenni and family have received over the last four months. A special shoutout to Nicole for starting the ball rolling with the Good Morning America story. It was our pleasure to do a follow up with you and to have you help us share the great news with the rest of the world!

Thank you for all the prayers for labs and scans today! While it took an hr to get an iv in her, and she was extra hangry by the time she was finally taken back, we had no other road bumps during the mri or x-ray. ☺️ I was informed that Kenni did not have any problems with sedation (last time, she required oxygen during sedation, so we were looking out for that this time). She did a wonderful job . She's certainly still got a world of fight in her though. I had to wrap my leg around her to keep her from kicking the nurses trying to thread her vein .
While we were still in the waiting room, Kenni started playing a game where she switched places with me. She said I was going to get the medicine and made me move so she could sit in my seat. She's quick, that Kenni chick. It's so hard to see your baby to through this, if I don't laugh, I'll cry - so I'm choosing to laugh.

We'll be sure to keep you posted on the results come Wed! Please continue to pray for NED!
