Fighting with Jordan
Donation protected
I am creating this GoFundMe on behalf of my cousin's youngest son.
Jordan is a very energetic, funny, smart, loving and active 2 year old
(going on 3) who has been faced with a battle for his life.
In late August 2020, Jordan woke up one morning with his right leg
swollen twice the normal size. With no pain and still being able to walk,
doctors were hesitant as to what it could be. X-rays and ultrasound showed
nothing, but after having a MRI it showed a very large tumor taking up
most of his leg.
On October 28th, Jordan was scheduled to have a outpatient biopsy of his
tumor at Loma Linda Children's Hospital in Loma Linda, CA. After surgery, the
surgeon came out to speak with Jordan's parents, giving them heart wrenching
news that what he saw in the tumor wasn't good and Jordan needed to be
admitted to do further testing.
October 29th, the Oncologist sat with Jordan's parents and gave them news
that no parent prepares for...YOUR SON HAS CANCER. Jordan was diagnosed
with Stage 3 Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare soft tissue cancer that can attack any
soft tissue of the body that is primarily found in children.
Jordan's parents were devastated. After 8 days in the hospital, 3 surgeries, a bunch of scans and learning that this cancer was not only in his leg, but in the right pelvic lymph nodes too, Jordan finally got to go home.
Chemotherapy and radiation is the only way to treat this cancer as it is aggressive and has a 50% chance of reoccurring.
Their journey into chemo has been rough with spending many nights in and out
of the hospital, lots of medications all this with a 2 year old that is not able to understand what's going on.
Jordan's parents, Amanda and Michael, have had to stop working to focus on their son's health and well being. Amanda and Michael also have 2 older
sons, Jacob(12) and Andrew(8), Jordan's half-brother's, to provide for who are having a difficult time understanding this news.
Mentally, emotionally and financially this has taken a toll on all of them.
We understand that this year has been a hard time for everyone, so any donation
will help support on-going medical bills that aren't covered and to lessen the burden on the family of 5.
Thank you for reading Jordan's story and for all the continued thoughts and
prayers. Jordan has a long battle ahead of him, but in his words, "WE GOT THIS!"
Jordan is our fighter.
