Mother-Daughter Battling Alzheimer’s and Terminal Cancer

We are reaching out on behalf of Janie and Melissa Moskau, a devoted mother and daughter facing unimaginable challenges together. Their lifelong bond is being tested like never before — one with terminal cancer, the other with progressing Alzheimer’s — and they need our help to carry on.

Their Story:

For nearly nine years, Janie has been the faithful caregiver to her only daughter, Melissa, who was diagnosed in 2016 at 36 with breast cancer. Through surgeries, radiation, endless scans, and relentless chemotherapy, Janie has stood by her side — cooking, cleaning, driving, comforting, and never wavering. Melissa is now in the fight of her life — living with stage 4 triple-negative metastatic breast cancer. Her prognosis is terminal, with chemotherapy every other week for as long as she lives. It is exhausting and brutal. But she has never faced it alone. Her mom, Janie, has been her rock.


Then, everything changed for them…

Just one year ago, Janie began experiencing symptoms of cognitive decline. After months of tests and appointments, in March 2025, Janie was diagnosed with middle-stage Alzheimer’s disease. She can no longer drive. Her memory is fading. And now Melissa, though terminally ill, has stepped into the role of caregiver herself. Two women under one roof, both battling devastating diagnoses. Their hope and trust remain fully in Christ alone.
