I am a full-time working single mom with zero child support and zero state assistance. The only thing standing between my daughters and stability is a monthly van payment. I have several years left to pay. I am doing everything I can — working full time, securing a raise, building side income, using food banks — and it still isn’t enough. We got the van when my child's dad was still around. Without my knowledge, he rolled a separate auto loan into this loan and then left. Now, we are upside down on the loan amount because it’s actually two loans in one. I’ve tried refinancing with multiple banks and credit unions, including the one I’ve been with for over a decade. My credit score is good, but the vehicle is too old and I owe too much. If I refinance, I would be pushed into a much longer loan at a higher interest rate. I am humbling myself and asking for help to keep the vehicle that keeps my girls safe.

If this loan is paid down or paid off, it immediately removes the single largest financial burden in our lives — a monthly payment. Reliable transportation to work, daycare, school, and doctor appointments. No fear of repossession or damaged credit that would hurt our ability to rent or move. The ability to use my income for rent, groceries, childcare, and basic needs instead of just surviving debt. Stability — which is something every child deserves.

I am asking for financial help. I’m asking for help because I’ve exhausted every other option. This isn’t pride — it’s survival. This van is not a luxury for us. It is how I get to work. It is how my daughters get to daycare safely. Their car seats fit correctly. The automatic doors matter when I’m loading kids alone. If this loan is paid off, that frees up a significant amount every month for the next several years — providing stability. That is rent security. That is groceries without panic. That is the ability to rebuild savings instead of living in constant stress. No amount is too small, and every bit of support brings us closer to stability and peace of mind.
