Fighting to keep my daughter safe

Donation protected
Hi my name is Sarah and I am hoping by sharing my story that through understanding and grace that friends, family, and strangers will be wiling to lift me up, weather through prayers, or a donation. I am asking for help, that's not easy for me to do but given the circumstances it has become necessary. No one deserves to be abused and no child should have to witness domestic violence against a parent. I am looking for some help as I fight for custody of my 9month old daughter and so that I can continue to keep her safe. I work full time but I am missing work to continue fighting for my daughter the cost of retaining an attorney to take my case and get the best possible outcome will cost between $15,000 - $20,000. Any money that I do receive will go to help me towards legal fees and anything leftover will help me financially to get back on my feet. I fear I will not be able to keep up and my greatest fear is having to hand my daughter off to a violent abuser, even if for a weekend. I really need a break in life and help, honestly yes, even from strangers. I don't come from a wealthy family and I do not have extra money after bills are paid. A brief insight into my very serious situation. I was a victim of domestic violence. I was the victim of a very violent assault in front of my child. In the process of protecting her, my abuser threatened my life and those around him by brandishing weapons, knives in particular, and physically assaulting his own extended family members. His own family had to restrain him as we barricaded ourselves with my daughter to prevent him from fleeing with her. This, all while under the influence, as he as issues with addiction and has long struggled with his addictions, continually relapsing. Without prior knowledge of his past history and after looking into him I became aware that he also pulled the same weapon of choice a knife on another woman prior to me and threatened to Kill her, he was arrested for this instance as well. He has prior criminal history resulting in being charged with Grand Larceny and he spent over a year in jail and on probation. He was dishonorably discharged from probation yes that is the legal word for it. Why because he failed to follow the rules of his probation, failed tests for his addictions. My abuser was jailed for what he did to me but of course since then he has been released. As typical cases of domestic violence I stayed in contact with my abuser, speaking to him and seeing him, this allowed my abuser to manipulate me further, causing me to act as many abused women do, taking their abuser back. Through encouragement, healing, and support I have been able to break free from my abuser, clear my head and learn to love myself again. My first priority is to keep my 9month old daughter and myself safe. I have a current protection order against him preventing any contact from him to me directly. Being exposed to domestic abuse has serious consequences for children and it can affect so many aspects of their lives. Although I myself can receive support and treatment my Daughter depends on me to keep her safe and in my custody. Please consider donating so I can get the legal support I need. I love my Daughter and would go to the end of the earth fighting for her I just need some help along the way! Thank you for taking the time to ready my story and my cause.
