My name is Russell Wright, and I’m reaching out with deep humility and urgency.

In less than a week, my family could lose the home we have been in for the past 6 years.

We’ve tried everything to get our rent up to date: we've drained our savings, I've taken on gig work since I lost my job in November 2024 (it pays but generally the money received ends up going straight to getting things like gas and groceries), we've asked friends and family (this resource has been tapped dry), and we've even started planning a yard sale for as soon as this weekend (should make some money but not the amount required to keep a roof over our heads).

Sadly it hasn’t been and most likely won't be enough.

This isn’t just about bills. It’s about our family’s stability and the memories we’ve built here. We’ve lived in this home since the heartbreaking loss of our oldest son in July 2019. It has been our safe place to grieve, to heal, and to hold onto each other. The thought of losing it now is devastating.

We are raising two children — our 18-year-old son with ADHD and Autism, and our 15-year-old daughter — who need the comfort and stability of home more than ever. Eviction would be traumatic for them in ways I can’t put into words.

Here’s what we’re facing:

  • $4,200 in past due rent + late fees and legal fees – the most urgent need to stop eviction.
  • $1,500 in utilities – water, sewer, trash, electricity, and phone (essential so I can receive calls for potential gig work and/or interviews).
  • $2,500 in past due car payments – without our car, my wife can’t get to work, and I can’t continue performing gig work or be able to potentially work a full-time job.

We are not asking for a handout — we are asking for a lifeline. Every dollar raised will go directly toward saving our home and keeping our family together.

If you can give, no matter the amount, you will be helping us hold onto the place that carries our memories, our healing, and our future. If you can’t donate, please share our story — even that could connect us with someone who can help.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for reading, for caring, and for standing with us in this moment of need.

With gratitude,
Russell Wright
