Fighting Through Cancer and the Financial Burden

Dear loved ones and friends,

I am Stacey Wallace, and I find myself sharing a chapter of my life that I never anticipated.
In June 2023, I went to the hospital because I was not feeling my best, I also wanted to make sure I didn’t have Covid because the symptoms were so closely related. The doctors ran all test on me to figure out what was wrong and eventually diagnosed me with Colon Cancer. I was in disbelief because this was the first time I felt sick. I had no prior issues and always received good updates during my check ups. I was eating well, exercising regularly and taking the best care of myself. This news was unbelievable and very disheartening.

Chemotherapy was suggested and the doctors made it urgent that I started as soon as possible. After letting my family know, I began in treatment the very next week. I did my best to relieve myself of stress and falling into a deep depression by continuing to go to work, be around and stay in contact with friends and family, and keeping my faith in GOD to get me through.

I now find myself with acceptance of what I am going through and do my best to embrace God’s plan but with God plans comes hardship. I’ve still remained in good spirits but I also see that I need more support to manage this journey.

Unfortunately I lost my job and have been waiting on updates about financial support from Disability, The Cancer Foundation, ACS Foundation, Blue Hope, and all other benefit programs that can help me financially with bills, transportation to and from home for treatment and most importantly peace of mind.

I’ve hardly ask anyone for help or even mention the hardships I’ve gone through but now I am. I created a go fund me to help relieve me of these finances that I have to face without having a job. It will be appreciated and will go towards everything I have mentioned to help me have the most stress free mind and body while continuing chemotherapy. Unfortunately, I will have to be on chemotherapy for the rest of my life so I will need as much support as I can.

I sincerely appreciate all other types of support because it means just as much. I love you all and thank you for keeping me in your prayers and offering your love during this challenging time.
