Fighting This Together - Help Cindy Beat Cancer

Thank you for taking the time to view this fundraiser for our dear friend Cindy Leong. At just 31 years young, Cindy has been diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer. As you could imagine, this news does not come easy to someone so young (or at any age). Cindy works as a local bank teller; however, with Chemotherapy starting Thursday January 6th, 2022, she will not be able to work full time throughout her treatment. Cindy is a very strong and proud individual and would not ask for help. She has expressed her desire to work during Chemo, simply because she cannot afford to be off work, even now at the start of her treatment.

As her friends, we want to be a supportive shoulder for her to lean on and this is new territory for us as well. We can understand the financial burden she is taking on, but can only imagine what this journey may bring for her physically and mentally. So to help in this small way, we are asking for your assistance and support.

Cindy plans to move back in with her parents during treatment to save on costs and to be nearer to her loved ones during this difficult journey. This means she will be commuting approximately an hour each way to get to work. Already her doctors have estimated her co-pay costs to be around $10,000+ and that is just too hard for anyone to afford on their own.

That is where this amazing community comes into play. Cindy has lived in Ben Lomond for 7+ years and absolutely loves it here. The amazing community is a major reason --full of kind and generous people she has met during her time here. After the holidays money is tight for everyone but, as we know, every little bit helps. This way Cindy will be able to get though treatment without having to worry about how she will pay for it. We would like to help take at least this burden off of her plate right now.
