Fighting Stage 4 Burkitt Lymphoma
Donation protected
On November 9, 2024, just a day after my daughter’s first birthday, I learned I was eight weeks pregnant with twins after my third IVF cycle. It was incredible news, but three weeks earlier, I had started feeling sick—experiencing night sweats, fatigue, weight loss, and a general sense of not feeling like myself. I assumed these were pregnancy symptoms, but on November 12, I went to urgent care due to bleeding. I was also experiencing shortness of breath, extreme fatigue, and high blood pressure. After an EKG, I was rushed to the ER. Because I was pregnant, testing was limited, but doctors suspected cancer. A bone marrow biopsy later confirmed it as Stage 4 Burkitt lymphoma.
On November 18, I received my official diagnosis. My oncologist recommended immediate treatment, but to begin the regimen, I needed to undergo a D&C—a medical abortion. I had to make the heartbreaking decision to terminate the pregnancy on November 23 to save my life. Now, I am undergoing my fourth chemo session, awaiting a PET scan to track my progress.
This journey has been incredibly difficult, and for the first time, I find myself in need of help. Normally, I’m the one offering support to others, but now, I am unable to work and need assistance. Asking for help has never been easy for me, but I’m putting my ego aside to reach out—whether it’s through prayers, sharing this post, or any other support you can provide. I am deeply grateful for the love and prayers that have already surrounded me.
Thank you in advance. Hoy Por Mí, Mañana Por Ti.
