My name is Jelena and I am the aunt of Darija, a brave little girl from a small village in Serbia.
Darija has been fighting for her life since she was just 18 months old. She is now three years old, and for more than half her life, she has been battling advanced-stage neuroblastoma, a rare and aggressive childhood cancer.
During these past years, Darija has already endured more than any child ever should. She has gone through intense chemotherapy, a major surgery, radiotherapy, and even a stem-cell transplant. We believed that the battle was finally over but only a few weeks after the end of her treatment, the cancer came back.
Now, we are facing the most difficult chapter of her journey.
The only remaining treatment that offers Darija a real chance is available abroad at a specialized clinic known for treating her type of cancer. This is truly her last chance. As a family living in a small Serbian village, her parents cannot afford the cost of this life-saving treatment on their own. This is why we are humbly reaching out for help. Any support, no matter how small, can make a life-changing difference for Darija.
We want nothing more than to see her grow up, play, and live the childhood that cancer has stolen from her.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with Darija in this fight.
