Hi, my name is Leila and I am living in Amsterdam.

Early this year I was diagnosed with stage 4 anal cancer.

The months before, from October 4th last year onwards I went through a diagnostic phase until December 29th. First “just” diagnosed with changed cells but doctors saying its “pre-cancerous” to then getting a stage 3 diagnosis December 29th, followed by the attempt to get a second opinion in a different hospital, which resulted in a Stage 4 with metastasis in the liver. I was devastated.

BUT…..

Today is July 21st & I am doing well.

I went though 33 rounds of chemo radiation and on June 19th they removed the liver metastasis.

At this point I am in remission.

However what a trip those months were.

Now – Why do I want to raise money?

My cancer is a rare one & it was almost overlooked. The process that starts when you are put through the hospital mills … is hard, its difficult – I was lost for a few weeks and felt what I had was not dialogs wit the doctors, it was pure monologues. I felt not seen as a person…… BUT THEN… I found my way! Did lots of research, changed my diet, my attitude and took back the lead and responsibility of my journey as a patient.

Now – I would love to write a book about my experiences and I’d love provide all information I can to ease the journey for others. Actually I want to put all the information out there that I would have wished to have access to, if I’d rewind a few months back.

However I need help to write – I am not a writer, but have all the information.

I got in touch with an editor and she’d love to help to make this a valuable book, as well contribute with donated hours because of the cause, but I'd still need to pay her.

What I need support with:

As well the time frame is set – I would like this book being published in December this year, so lots of work needs to be done quick :-)
