Fighting Leukemia with The Goffs
November brought the Goff family heartbreaking news as their Father, Husband, Grandpa, and sole provider, Cecil Wayne Goff was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. After about a year of feeling ill and numerous bouts of sickness he was called back to the hospital with results of his blood work showing signs of leukemia. Right now, he’s admitted and staying at UCI Medical Center undergoing cyclophosphamide chemotherapy. He won’t be able to be home or see his family for another month, and even when he does return he’ll be doing more chemotherapy.
This is just the beginning of this journey for him and their family. If you know the Goff’s, you know how devastating this has been for their family and friends who love them. “Big Wayne” has always been a very calm, positive and supportive person. He’s continued that energy with his diagnoses. He’s asking for prayers and positive thoughts as he is committed to coming out of this as strong as he can. Although all he has asked for is prayers, I’m starting this GoFundMe to assist him and his family through this. I have known the Goff’s for over 15 years and consider them family. I know they would never ask for help financially or otherwise, but I felt it weighing on my heart to start this for those who want to help in some way.
The last time I spoke to Big Wayne before he was admitted, we were talking about how hard it is being the sole provider for a family. I told him stories about my dad and he shared this with me: “ If I couldn’t make that house payment or we needed money or something... I’d go door to door. I’d go knock and ask to do their roof or whatever. Whatever I could. But we always made it.” This is my attempt to go “door to door” to help the Goff’s through this and make sure Big Wayne doesn’t have to worry about anything but getting better.
These funds will go directly to his daughter Margaret Goff and will be used for any medical bills, medication or medical equipment after discharge, mortgage payments or household bills they’re experiencing right now. If you can’t donate, please share and please pray. Pray for their family and for Big Wayne.
