Hi, my name is Michael, and I’m reaching out during the most difficult time of my life.
I’m battling serious health conditions that have made it impossible for me to work, and now I’m facing the terrifying reality of homelessness. I’ve been diagnosed with congestive heart failure (my heart is only functioning at 25%), atrial fibrillation, diabetes, asthma, neuropathy, ADHD, depression, anxiety, and leg ulcers. My doctors have told me that I am not medically able to work, and my condition requires constant care and monitoring.
I have weekly doctor’s appointments and attend cardiac rehab three times a week to try to strengthen my heart. Even with insurance, not all of my prescriptions are covered, and the uncovered costs are overwhelming. On top of everything, I’ve been hospitalized twice after suicide attempts — this pain has taken a toll not just physically, but mentally and emotionally.
But through all of this, I’m holding on because I have someone to live for — my 17-year-old daughter.
She is my reason to fight every single day. She gives me strength when I feel like giving up, and I want more than anything to be here for her — to watch her grow, to support her, and to be the parent she deserves. She has already seen me go through so much, and I don’t want to add homelessness or more suffering to her life.
Right now, I urgently need help with housing, medical costs, prescriptions, food, and daily living expenses. Every dollar, every share, every kind word — it all makes a difference. I am asking for this help not just to survive, but to heal, to be there for my daughter, and to hold on to hope.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Your kindness means more than I can ever put into words.
With love and deep gratitude,
Michael
