Delilah was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, meaning the left side of her heart never developed and does not function. Her condition is one of the most complex forms of congenital heart defects. It requires multiple surgeries and the very real understanding that one day she will most likely need a transplant.

She is now facing her third open heart surgery — the Fontan procedure. This is the last surgical step available for children with this condition. The risks are vast, but the chance for her to live a better, more stable life after this is something we are holding onto with everything we have.

The Fontan is not a cure. It will not fix her heart. But it can give her time — time to grow, time to laugh, time to experience childhood in a way her little body has had to fight so hard for. And to us, that time is everything.

As you can imagine, this journey has come with overwhelming emotional and financial strain. Between hospital stays, travel, time off work, medications, and the unexpected expenses that come with caring for a medically complex child, we are facing costs that are simply more than we can manage alone.
