Our pregnant mare is fighting for her life at the University of Georgia, and we are desperate to save her. What should have been a season of joy has turned into a nightmare. She has been hospitalized for two days with a suspected small intestinal obstruction. She is 6 months pregnant, and the doctors tell us her baby is still holding on.

She has been refluxing liters of fluid through an NG tube, while the team works around the clock bolusing her with IV and rectal fluids just to keep her stable. The doctor says time is everything in cases like this—sometimes days, even weeks are needed. But too often, it isn’t the horse’s will to fight that runs out—it’s the funds. Our bill is already sitting at $5,000 come the morning, and the end is still unclear.

We do not have the means to cover this level of intensive care, but we cannot give up on her or her unborn foal. Every dollar, every kind word, every prayer gives her a better chance.
