Hi my name is Rosie, and I'm starting a Go Fund me for our friend Brooke and her fur baby Todd.
Todd is going through life saving treatment and needs your help.
Todd's battle for a healthy liver:
Todd's liver is on the decline, at worst he can go into liver failure in the next couple of day's if he doesn't receive 24 hour vet care. or another possibility is he can develop life long liver disease.
Back story:
This weekend, Todd was his usual happy self, eating his favourite treats, playing tug of war, with his beloved humans. He was fine until he wasn't, he started vomiting, symptoms seemed to worsen throughout the night. he started shivering because of the pain he was in. Brooke knew something wasn't right and rushed him to the closest emergency vet.
Todd has undergone countless amounts extensive testing , x-rays, bloods, along with IV, injections and oral medications.
An extreme high liver reading was detected which indicates a high toxin in the liver enzymes .
The vet team is still unsure of the cause, possibilities are consuming a poisonous substance, infection, abnormal growths on the liver. We may never know the acute cause, though this is a serious matter and life threatening.
Due to the rapid onset of Todd's liver decline, there was no time to wait for regular vet.
Therefore the care that was given was at a very high price point of $4400.
There is no way of knowing the cause but the levels are so extreme that there is a high chance of liver failure.
Todd has now been transferred to his local vet clinic. where he will undergo more tests and treatments. We hope this will be enough for him to make a full recovery.
Why Todd & Brooke Need your help.
You may be asking, why should I donate? She should've taken out pet insurance. Unfortunately not everyone can afford it, especially if you had to quit your job to become a full time carer. Brooke's been putting money away, unfortunately it isn't enough to pay the emergency vet bills.
All we're asking for you to do is please share our fundraiser/or donate to Todd's cause. Even if it's as little as the cost of a cup of coffee, any donation is appreciated.
