Hi all, I’m Banjo’s owner, Ariel. I wish I was writing this under better circumstances but unfortunately, am not. Banjo is my 10 yr. old Vizsla, and love of my life.

He recently went to the vet to have a couple of cysts removed, and at the last minute I asked the vet to feel a spot under his arm. This growth was not outwardly visible but could be felt. Unfortunately, that was the tumor that diagnosed him with Subcutaneous Hemangiosarcoma. This cancer is very aggressive, and malignant. There don’t seem to be many favorable outcomes. I am looking to buy as much time as I can without compromising his quality of life.

Banjo has had biopsies, surgery to remove the tumor (unsure about clean margins since the location has made it tricky), and imaging. We are on the shortlist for Animal Cancer Care Clinic but the earliest appointment I could get is March, which may be too late. I’m looking to take him to the University of Florida to receive treatment. As the costs climb, I have to consider scarifies but I’m not willing to make him be one of those.
