Fighting for the Meza Family

Donation protected
On July 1st, 2019 I was at work when my husband, Erick Meza called me, and told me that he felt pressure in his frontal lobe. The frontal lobe is a part of the cerebral cortex and it plays a vital role in our everyday human functions such as speech and language production, some motor skills, comparing objects, and forming memory. My husband was updating me about the struggle and symptoms he was experiencing at work regarding to his pain. He stated that he started to have a hard time remembering certain words and how to spell them; hindering his abilities to type. He told me there was a point he just could not type and was frozen for a few minutes trying to process what he wanted to say. I did not think much of it due to the fact that my husband has always been an individual who constantly took care of himself by exercising, eating healthy, and having an annual check-up with his healthcare provider. He made it to the end of his shift, but knew something was not right. He immediately called me and told me that he was going to drive himself to the hospital because he couldn’t bear the pain. I knew then, that this was something more serious, I rushed myself to the hospital feeling very anxious and nervous. They admitted my husband and ran an MRI and the next day, July 2nd, 2019 the results came back and the doctor declared that he has a brain tumor. The doctor ordered a biopsy in order to determine the prognosis and the form of treatments. The results came back from the biopsy, and the doctor confirmed my husband has Glioblastoma. Glioblastoma is an aggressive type of cancer that is very hard to treat. This was extremely shocking to everyone; I could not believe this was happening. My whole body became paralyzed at the doctor’s statement. First, my father who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in February, and now my husband has a brain tumor. I thought to myself why is this happening to the people I love and to my family. From there on out we spoke to many neurological specialists to find the best line of treatments and help. We all started to realize that with each other’s support, love, and care we can all fight this harsh and horrific battle. Having the guidance, trust, and faith in our lord savior can potentially keep us all sane and in positive spirits. God and his son Jesus Christ have the power of healing, giving, and the answers to our future, so we all have hope that everything will be okay. Not only do we have family we also have neighbors and friends who can join us in this battle; with continuation to pray and march with us into my husband’s recovery. Are you willing to pray and march with the Meza family into a fight of a lifetime? Please help every little bit counts!
