Health issues affect finances, legal issues seeing my son
Donation protected
Note: It is important to acknowledge the assistance received, as it has facilitated significant progress in the realisation of the house project. Furthermore, have also got a much fairer childcare payment agreement in court. But more needs to be done, as I still can't see my son in proper and due conditions and we lack some crucial parts for the rental, but we advanced a lot. I am very grateful to everyone who has helped and contributed to this.
My name is Janos and I am raising funds to complete our dream project: building a room rental in Caribbean Costa Rica. We were a successful family business, exporting premium quality products to mostly the European Union and Switzerland. Then the pandemic hit, putting strain on our business and making it difficult to stand as we were facing new regulations that made exporting to EU very challenging for small businesses.
I am now focusing on raising the funds to complete the project, which will provide to generate income instead of draining more resources, which our declined cigars business cannot sustain anymore. The house is in a beautiful environment, but incomplete making it extremely challenging to rent or sell (monetize) in its present state.
Due to above difficulties and other factors, I was diagnosed with several diseases during the past 5 years (including chronic hepatitis E, peripherial polyneuropatia, a severe case of Leishmaniasis and colorectal cancer), from most of which I could recover at least partly. I still suffer the effects of several operations (broken spine, cancer), that is why I dedicate much of my energy to excersise and healthy diet to cope with the effects accidents, deteriorated health and what cancer left on my body.
I am fighting an unjust legal system which indirectly prohibited me from seeing my son in Costa Rica. I have difficulties of movement and no financial means to support travels to the capital of the country. I also have to pay the sum of US$ 5100 (almost 5000 Euros) a year in child support (that was decided without any due assessment), which is beyond my means at the moment. I have seen my son once in the last two years and only about half a dozen times since he was born due to distance, medical, financial and legal issues. I have to pay the above amount as a deposit to leave Costa Rica and fly to Hungary for medical treatment. If I am not able to pay child care, I could be imprisoned for several months (I had to hide from police several times due to small delays in the payment).
We work ourselves and employ volunteers to minimize costs. The funds raised would go to:
- paying basic utility bills (electricity, internet, gas)
- buying the rest of materials to finish some rooms and restrooms
We have used the first donations:
- 400 USD material to arrange the parking lot (it was a mudpool)
- 280 USD one of the full size mattresses for the rental rooms
- 80 USD recycling trashcans
- 93 USD bedsheets
- 65 USD accu drill machine
- 124 USD lamps, washroom accessories
- 360 USD January extra child support (police report was already filed while being in the bank). It was double for December and January. 720 USD + 720 USD.
- 200 USD attorney's fee for the trial (child)
- 250 USD witness travel costs to the trial
- 678 USD Duty free purchase of fridge and accessories for bath for the rental (almost half price)
- 218 USD gas stove
Total: 2748 USD. We thank you wholeheartedly!
No donation is too small—every dollar makes a difference. If you can’t donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser with people who would be interested in what we produce or stay with us in exchange of their help.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting us in this challenging period. Your kindness and generosity mean a lot.
