Fighting for Stability: Help Me Rebuild After Health events

Hi, my name is Keefe Spriggs, and I’m asking for help to get through a tough period in my life.

Over the past few years, I’ve faced serious medical challenges, including a massive heart attack, heart failure, a quadruple bypass, and a mechanical valve replacement. I’ve also suffered a stroke, diabetes complications, and mobility challenges, which have made it impossible for me to work like I used to.

While my health has improved in some ways, I still deal with daily limitations. I have an upcoming surgery between March and April that will require hospitalization and anesthesia. Thankfully, it’s not as life-threatening as my past procedures, but it still carries risks, and I’ll need time to recover.

At the same time, I’m struggling financially. I am moving in with my brother, starting May 1, 2025, I will need to pay $1,000 in rent. My small business, SignGypsies of Kingstowne, has been losing revenue as I’m unable to manage it and maintain my health, so I am forced to have to sell it soon, which is heartbreaking after years of effort.

Why I Need Your Help

Despite everything I’ve been through, I continue to be denied recognition as disabled, making it nearly impossible to access financial assistance. Even with legal help, I’ve been denied Social Security benefits three times. My doctors consider me disabled, but the system does not. I am unable to work, yet I am expected to survive with no real support.

Right now, I’m just trying to keep a roof over my head and cover basic needs while I figure out what’s next.
