Fighting For Roshika
Donation protected
On June 21st Roshika entered the emergency department at the University of Alberta hospital with complaints of abdominal pain and swollen limbs. She was admitted and 7 days later, Roshika had what the University of Alberta doctors called a "Catastrophic Hemorrhagic Stroke, thus suffering massive brain damage. Her parents were told to call all the family members together because the doctor didn't believed she would live the next 6 to 12 hours.
As of today's date August 4th, with praise only to the Almighty creator, it has been 37 days and Roshika is still Alive. Not only is she alive she has been breathing on her own, no longer needing a ventilator, she can bring her arm up when asked. Moving in ways that doctors said she would never be able to do again. What's truly awesome is when we look into her beautiful brown eyes and she looks back at us, we see our Rosh, she is still there and somewhat aware. The doctor's prognosis has always been grim and never too encouraging but thankfully we see slight improvements in her everyday. She is still so very fragile and we know its going to be a long hard journey with many uncertain outcomes. The strength and courage Roshika has shown us through this experience is incredible, witnessing her fight gives us strength and courage. So we will continue to fight for Roshika's life as she fights for her's every second of the day.
Rosh is a daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, friend and an awesome auntie to so many people that love her dearly. The last month has been a horrible nightmare for the family. Her parents have dropped everything to be at her side day and night, fighting with her. There is nothing more valuable than our children.
If you want to help and are able to contribute, the funds raised will be used to support transportation costs, living accommodations and a host of other supports for this family during this devastating time and for their uncertain future.
We welcome your prayers of guidance and strength, we also ask that you remember the U of A hospital doctors, nurses, specialists, even the custodial staff in your prayers because this family has been witness to answered prayers. Halleluyah !
I'm Roshika's auntie Sheree and will be managing this page on behalf of the family.
Blessings Always!
