Fighting for Relief: Emily’s Endometriosis Journey

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Emily, and I’m reaching out with deep vulnerability and hope. I’ve been struggling with intense, chronic pain and debilitating symptoms for years—pain that has disrupted my daily life, my work, my sleep, and even my ability to enjoy simple things. After many doctor visits, delayed answers, and feeling dismissed, I’m finally pursuing proper testing and surgery for endometriosis, a condition that affects 1 in 10 women—but is so often underdiagnosed and misunderstood.

Endometriosis is not just “bad cramps.” It’s a progressive disease where tissue similar to the uterine lining grows outside the uterus, causing inflammation, internal damage, and excruciating pain. Left untreated, it can lead to infertility, organ complications, and an overwhelming decline in quality of life.

Unfortunately, the only definitive way to diagnose and treat endometriosis is through surgery, and most insurance companies either don’t cover the necessary specialists or only provide limited access to general surgeons who may not address the disease thoroughly.

I am currently seeking care from a specialist who understands the complexity of endometriosis and uses excision surgery, the gold standard treatment. Along with that, I also need access to fertility testing and viability assessments, since endometriosis can deeply impact the ability to conceive and carry a pregnancy. Unfortunately, the costs of this care—including travel, consultations, testing, and surgery—add up quickly, and I can’t do this alone.

What the funds will go toward:
Specialist consultations & diagnostic imaging

Fertility testing and viability assessments

Travel & lodging for out-of-area specialists

Laparoscopic excision surgery

Post-op recovery care and medications

Follow-up appointments and physical therapy

Every share, donation, or kind word helps more than I can express. Living with endometriosis has taken so much from me—time, energy, stability, and the ability to live fully and freely. But I truly believe that with the right care, there’s a future where I can live without constant pain and reclaim the parts of my life that this illness has taken from me.

If you’ve made it this far, thank you for being here. Whether you donate, share this, or simply hold space for what I’m going through—you’re helping me take one step closer to healing.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
