Fighting for our sister and friend Jonelle Allen

Our sister, friend, and Warrior for life, Jonelle Allen is in need of our support. Many of you may know that Jonelle has been fighting a longtime battle with illnesses such as Breast Cancer and Congestive Heart Failure since 2009. Jonelle is the epitome and depiction of what it means to be a warrior and fighter. She continues to face this challenge head on, with positivity, and grace. Now, her doctors are in search of a new heart. She will continue to fight for her life.

Most insurance providers DO NOT cover the entire cost of a heart transplant, which is $1.5 million. This leaves families to bear a significant portion of the financial burden which can not only lead to financial stress, but can also negatively impact a family's quality of life. Moreover, the cost of a heart transplant is NOT a one-time expense – there are ongoing expenses associated with monitoring and maintaining the transplanted heart. For example, the cost of anti-rejection medications can range from $1,000 to $4,000 per month, and these medications are required for the rest of the patient's life.

We are asking today for your help in supporting Jonelle and her family with the cost of her medical bills. We anticipate the cost of Jonelle's medical bills to be approximately $180,000. For this reason I have started a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for Jonelle’s heart transplant & medications. Any amount donated will be of great help.
