I've rewritten this a hundred times because I don't know how to ask for help without feeling uncomfortable.

But here is the truth.

My husband should not be defined by the worst chapter of his life. He is an incredible father. He is the best dad to our girls, and he is literally our four-year-old's whole world. The way she runs into his arms, the way she feels safest when he holds her, the way she lights up when he walks into a room — that tells you everything about who he is. He loves our daughters fiercely and without condition. He has a big heart and would do anything for anyone. Anyone who truly knows him knows he is genuine, kind, and deeply caring. Despite how his past may portray him, he is a good man who loves his family with everything in him.

Yes, he has struggled. Addiction is real, and it is ruthless. Unfortunately, during a relapse, poor choices were made that have now placed our family in the fight of our lives. If convicted, he could be taken from us for MANY years and because of his past, the consequences being pushed are severe. It feels like we are not just fighting charges right now — we are fighting for his life, for our daughters' father, for the future we have worked so hard towards to rebuild.

And that's what hurts the most.

He was rebuilding. He was working hard. He was showing up. He was trying to prove — not with words, but with actions — that people can change. That growth is possible. That a man is more than his history.

But right now, history is louder than progress.

A strong defense matters. A good attorney matters and is so critical in this situation. And that kind of defense is expensive. I am carrying our household on one income. I work full-time. I go to school full-time pursuing my nursing degree. I am raising our four-year-old while helping our senior daughter prepare for some of the biggest milestones of her life with all of the expenses that go into that. I am doing everything I can to hold us together — emotionally, financially, spiritually.

But I cannot do this alone. I am humbly asking for help.

This isn't about sympathy. It's about a fair chance. It's about making sure a man who is loved deeply and who loves deeply is represented fully — not reduced to his record on paper.
