Fighting for my future and most importantly him

Hi, I’m David, and I’m currently in treatment at Greenhouse Treatment Center in Arlington, Texas.

For years, I’ve struggled with addiction. Even more than that, I’ve struggled with shame, guilt, self-worth and trauma. That fed into the addiction, and the addiction fed right back into the shame. It became a cycle I didn’t know how to escape. The disease/affliction (whatever you want to call it) of addiction was well on it's way to killing me.

In the past, I didn’t know how to move forward. I didn’t have a strong plan for what came after treatment. But I’ve learned from those experiences, and I’m going into this next chapter with diligence, courage, and determination.

I’m doing this work not just for myself, but for my son, Dominic. He’s my biggest motivation. He deserves a present, healthy, and stable father—and I’m committed to being that for him.

While I focus on recovery, I don’t have an income to keep up with my basic bills—car payments, insurance, and other living expenses. Nor do I have an emergency fund. Some of the funds I’m raising will also go toward paying for a sober living facility once I complete inpatient treatment, so I can continue building a strong and stable foundation for long-term recovery.
