Fighting for Lyric Kremple
Donation protected
On April 13, 2019 our angel Lyric Paisley Kremple was born. She was born six weeks premature but very healthy. When Lyric was 10 weeks old her mother Courtney noticed that Lyric was having abnormal movements and seizure like symptoms. Courtney notified her pediatrician and at that point the pediatrician felt that Lyric might be having infantile spasms and needed to be admitted into Children’s Hospital of Atlanta. After doing an EEG and an MRI the neurologist told Courtney and Brett that lyric had some spikes in her EEG but nothing of concern and her MRI came back fine. As time went on Courtney started researching Lyrics symptoms because Lyric wasn’t reaching her milestones, still having spasms, and forgetting how to suck her bottle, not able to hold her head up and her body was sometimes weak and not able to roll over at all. Courtney new something was wrong because Lyric was turning 5 months old. After numerous calls to the neurologist at children’s hospital Courtney was told to bring Lyric in immediately to run another EEG and MRI and genetic testing. The EEG showed that Lyric had damage to the left side of her brain and the MRI was still fine but the results on the genetic testing would take several weeks to come back. Once again after being there another week they released Lyric to go home and said this is something she will probably grow out of that God must of intervened just follow up with the neurologist and will let you know about the genetic test that they were doing on mitochondrial disease and metabolic disorder. Courtney and Brett came home still feeling uneasy about there sweet little girl. Courtney continued to research Lyrics symptoms she pulled all her medical records and studied her results while Lyric was still falling behind still not able to hold her head up or roll over or sit up Courtney knew this wasn’t normal for her baby coming up on 6 months old. After numerous calls to the neurologist again Running her to the emergency room sometimes several times a week because Lyric would get dehydrated because she would forget how to suck her bottle and they would have to give her IV fluids. October 22 Courtney and Brett received the worse news Lyric was diagnosed with mitochondrial disease and metabolic disorder Lyric is now back at Children’s hospital in Atlanta they were told by the genetic doctor from Emory Lyrics disease is very aggressive and they’ve will be acting very aggressive with her testing. Lyric has declined a lot just in 48 hours. Courtney and Brett have been running back and forth for months to hospitals and doctors appointments and trying to keep normal routines to there other 3 daughters. With Brett having to take off work a lot to be with there baby Lyric and to be by Courtney’s side the medical bills and just everyday living expenses to run a family of 6 bills are falling behind. Lyrics prognosis is very grim. As a result we are bonding together to create a great support system and it starts with giving them the ability to help fund there medical and hospital bills and any other expenses that they are facing.
