Fighting for Life: Stage 4 Liver Cancer

Donation protected
Hi I'm Betty and on February 2024, I was given the devastating news that I had colon cancer. I got through my surgery and thought I was cancer-free. It felt like I was reborn. It took me a while to recover from the colon surgery, but we made it through by the grace of God. I went on with my life and was trying to get back to normal. I had to do a blood test every three months to detect any cancer if it came back. The first blood test was a little elevated, but my oncologist told me not to panic and wait until the second test. Well, three months later, when I got my second results, the cancer had definitely come back it had metastisized to my liver. I started chemo in November 2024. Right before Christmas, I was told I had to go off chemo and prepare for surgery.

On February 4th, 2025, I underwent liver surgery and had half my liver removed along with my gallbladder. I have a port for a all over the body chemo and I also have a liver pump the size of a hockey puck just below my ribs on the right side that delivers a different chemo directly to the remaining left side of my liver. It's very difficult to get around and be normal with the ports and it has made life a little harder to get around. I will probably have to keep the ports in for life due to the fact if I get the liver port removed and the cancer comes back at anytime there is no getting chemo if I choose to have it removed when I beat the cancer. I have restarted chemo and am trying to regain my strength. I'm not gonna lie; it's the hardest battle I've ever faced. I have been retaining fluid and am having complications with my chemo treatments, which I have to continue for the next several months. I have severe neuropathy in my feet and most days have a hard time doing the basics. I'm trying to stay strong and focused on healing.

I have spent my life working hard as a food server and trying to be strong and be there for everyone. I have raised three beautiful children, and I have three beautiful grandchildren that I am so proud of. I have to be around to watch them strive and grow. I have not been a person to ask for help, but my health condition has brought me to my knees. I am asking for all the prayers you can pray. I have been trying to stay strong during this whole ordeal, and it is so hard. I would ask if you could help with my monthly living expenses such as food, rent, and daily household needs. I also need special medical supplies. I have been out of work for a year now, and with surgery and recovery, I really need help right now. My husband and my children have been by my side the whole way. I need my husband to be able to take some time off to help me through this tough time. He has used all the time off days he can. We really need to focus on healing. Any support you can give us would be greatly appreciated. Please say a prayer and share my story.
