Fighting for Lexy
Our precious niece, Lexi Carrillo, is fighting a battle that no child should ever have to fight - the fight against cancer.
Lexi is 7 years old and currently in 2nd grade. She has a kind, loving and thoughtful heart and is my brother’s only daughter. She’s such a beautiful little girl with a bright future.
On Oct. 9th 2020 Lexi wasn’t feeling her best and so her parents decided to keep her home. Soon after making that decision Lexi fainted and her mom called 911. An ambulance was discharged to their home where they later informed her parents she would be transported to Arkansa’s Children’s NW Hospital.
Since that Friday after many test and long nights in the hospital Lexi was diagnosed with A.L.L. Leukemia on Monday Oct. 26th. She’s been transported and is currently at Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock, where they’ve extracted bone marrow from both sides of her hip and spine, had a blood transfusion and is undergoing chemotherapy.
Through all of this Lexi has maintained a tremendous amount of strength and an inspiring positive attitude. Her smile is contagious!
Lexi comes from a family of warriors and the road to recovery will be a long one but there’s no doubt in our hearts she will overcome all the obstacles that may lie ahead.
We have started this Go Fund Me account to ease the burden on her parents, Antonio and Janeth. In the next weeks and months ahead they will be at countless doctors appointments and chemotherapy sessions and as you can imagine the cost of every day life with all the additional medical bills can become overwhelming.
Your contribution will enable Lexi’s parents to focus on making sure she’s feeling as well as possible while she fights her biggest battle, cancer.

Nuestra preciosa sobrina, Lexi Carrillo, está librando una batalla que ningún niño debería tener que librar: la lucha contra el cáncer.
Lexi tiene 7 años y actualmente está en segundo grado. Tiene un corazón amable, cariñoso y considerado y es la única hija de mi hermano. Es una niña tan hermosa con un futuro brillante.
El 9 de octubre de 2020, Lexi no se sentía bien, por lo que sus padres decidieron quedarse en casa. Poco después de tomar esa decisión, Lexi se desmayó y su madre llamó al 911. Una ambulancia fue dada de alta a su casa, donde más tarde informaron a sus padres que la transportarían al Hospital Children's NW de Arkansa.
Desde ese viernes, después de muchas pruebas y largas noches en el hospital, Lexi fue diagnosticada con ALL leucemia el lunes 26 de octubre. La trasladaron y actualmente se encuentra en el Arkansas Children's Hospital en Little Rock, donde le extrajeron médula ósea de ambos lados de la cadera y la columna, le hicieron una transfusión de sangre y está recibiendo quimioterapia.
A través de todo esto, Lexi ha mantenido una gran cantidad de fuerza y una actitud positiva inspiradora. ¡Su sonrisa es contagiosa!
Lexi proviene de una familia de guerreros y el camino hacia la recuperación será largo, pero no hay duda en nuestro corazón de que superará todos los obstáculos que puedan tener por delante.
Hemos iniciado esta cuenta Go Fund Me para aliviar la carga de sus padres, Antonio y Janeth. En las próximas semanas y meses, asistirán a innumerables citas médicas y sesiones de quimioterapia y, como se puede imaginar, el costo de la vida diaria con todas las facturas médicas adicionales puede volverse abrumador.
