Fighting for Justice: Legal Challenge Against USAID Firing

After years of dedicated service improving lives through international development work, I was abruptly terminated from USAID on July 1, 2025—along with thousands of other federal employees—in an illegal mass firing.

As someone who came from the developing world, USAID's mission really is my life's work. I spent 15 years as a contractor specializing in evaluation, data and aid effectiveness before officially joining the agency in December 2024 for a long-awaited role with the Asia Bureau. Just months later, my career was cut short in a sweeping termination that has left thousands of dedicated public servants without jobs or recourse. We have been maligned and slandered on top of it all.

This isn't just about one person's job—it's about the rule of law and protecting federal workers from illegal retaliation. The courts are moving slowly, Congress remains silent, but together we can fight back through legal action. My case could set important legal precedent for thousands of others.

The legal fees to challenge this termination are substantial, and with the foreign affairs job market severely limited right now, I'm facing financial hardship as well as an uphill legal battle.
