Our family is facing an unexpected and emotionally overwhelming medical crisis with our beloved dog. She is only four years old and was born with a slow gastrointestinal system, struggling with constipation since before we adopted her. Until recently, it was something we were able to manage — but suddenly, everything changed.
Over the past few days, her condition rapidly worsened. She became unable to pass stool, was in visible pain, vomiting, and required emergency veterinary care. Imaging and evaluations revealed a severe gastrointestinal blockage and concerning abnormalities that now require advanced diagnostics, hospitalization, IV fluids, and close monitoring by internal medicine specialists. Multiple veterinarians involved in her care have shared that they have never seen a case present like this before, which has made this situation both frightening and difficult to navigate.
What makes this even more alarming is how suddenly this occurred. Despite her lifelong slow GI system, she had been going normally until just days before this crisis. The findings do not match typical constipation, diet-related blockages, or even classic megacolon, leaving specialists searching for answers. At this time, we are still waiting for clarity, and her care is ongoing.
The cost of continued diagnostics, imaging (including ultrasound), hospitalization, and supportive treatment has quickly added up, with thousands required up front just to continue care. While we are doing everything possible to advocate for her and explore all non-surgical options, we cannot move forward without financial support.
She is not “just a pet” — she is family. She has the gentlest soul, has already endured more than most dogs should at such a young age, and she deserves every chance to recover and be comfortable. This situation has come on suddenly and has been both financially and emotionally devastating.
Any donation — no matter the amount — will go directly toward:
• Emergency and ongoing veterinary care
• Advanced diagnostics and imaging
• Hospitalization and IV supportive care
• Medications and treatments needed for stabilization and recovery
If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser means just as much. We are so grateful for every prayer, kind word, and ounce of support during this incredibly difficult time.
Thank you for helping us fight for her.
