A Healthy Democracy Needs Nurses: Lets Go to Campaign School

Having more nurses serving in public office is not only better for our patients and our communities — it is better for our profession. That is why I am honored to be accepted into the Healing Politics 2025 campaign school (https://healing-politics.org/), where I will learn what it takes to run a political campaign and run for political office. As a part of that program, we need to get comfortable asking for donations and fundraising on our own behalf.

I have been volunteering, organizing, fundraising, and advocating for others for over thirty years! It is the core of my personal and professional life, centering on fighting for health equity, standing up for justice, and leading with action.

I know there are a lot of organizations and individuals who could benefit from your donations. I appreciate your consideration of my request for your contribution. Anything small or large makes a difference. Helping to equip me with the knowledge needed to run a political campaign or run for political office will not be wasted. I am unsure what the future holds, but I know that I will never stop doing the work that needs to be done to make a more just, healthy, and safe world for all.
