Join the Fight For Fritz and help us raise $35,000 for a medical transport from New Mexico to California and assisted living arrangements!
On April 22nd, 2020 my father, Fritz Rene, experienced a massive ischemic stroke on the left side of his brain. The stroke caused severe neurological damage and trauma to most of his vital organs. After several weeks in the intensive care unit (ICU), he became stable and started his recovery. However due to the stroke, he has been paralyzed on the right side of his body and has Wernicke's Aphasia (trouble understanding and/or communicating).
Due to COVID-19, the past couple of months have been even more challenging. Medical facilities have had to enforce strict “no visitation” policies, which means we have not been able to be with him for a majority of his recovery. Support from loved ones is a key component on the road to success, especially one of this magnitude. As the restrictions begin to ease, our goal is to have him transported from New Mexico back to California, where we are located so we can provide that support. We are currently applying for assisted living facilities in the Sacramento and Bay Area, as he requires maximum assistance and round the clock care from professionals.
With the help of family, friends and colleagues we hope to raise $35,000.00, which covers both his medically supervised transportation and 3 months of care in an assisted living facility. Contributions of all sizes are welcome and greatly appreciated. My brother and I (Fritz’s children, Sebastian & Moriah) welcome you to pass this message along, to help reach as many people as possible. We are sending all of you nothing but love, light, prayer and protection during these challenging times. Thank you in advance for your time and support!
More About Fritz:
For those of you who don’t know him, Fritz has always been a Fighter. From starting a new life from Haiti to NYC, at the age of seven and flourishing within his educational career as a Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) graduate. To supporting his family and becoming an electrical systems engineer for the National Lab (in Berkeley, Livermore, CA and Los Alamos, NM) for over 20 years, Fritz has always fought for a better life for his family. As a father of two, youngest brother of seven siblings, serial hobbyist, dedicated sci-fi fan, community advocate for feeding the hungry and cancer survivor, our Father is truly our fearless warrior.
