My name is Aisha, I am the daughter of Fatima. My mother is 79 years old and has suffered many years with an ailing heart condition. Unfortunately, she has no health insurance (OHIP) as she is not a Canadian citizen. Having lived in this country for the last 13 years, I have tried numerous times to obtain her residency to no avail; immigration Canada has given numerous reasons to deny her papers. As the years passed, my mother required a variety of interventions from prescription drugs, emergent care and hospitalization for her declining condition. She currently requires oxygenation and of recent I have been told long term hospitalization is her best option. I have tried to manage her expenses alone but it is becoming really hard for me to afford her medical needs. I am extending a plea to please help my mother receive proper medical attention. Not only has she been instrumental in my life, she is important to my only daughter. I have exhausted my options and now am looking to the kindness of others to help ease my mother’s suffering. I'll be forever grateful to any help that you can provide.
