My dad is my best friend and truly one of the kindest, strongest people I know. Recently, he faced serious complications after an extremely simple outpatient surgery, that has landed him in the ICU fighting for every breath.

Today we had great news and were able to extubate him, we joked we talked, and hugged.

However tonight things took a turn for the worse and he couldn’t catch his breath. So with that being said, he had to be intubated for the third time.

The doctors believe that while his lungs are a big problem; his heart seems to be involved as well. They’re working hard to figure out the best way to help him heal over the next few days. This journey has been full of ups and downs, but I have faith he will turn back around.

Right now, our family is facing unexpected expenses — hospital bills, gas money driving back and forth multiple times a day, quick meals during long hours at the hospital, and of course any extra charges the hospital deems necessary.
