Fighting for Eric's Recovery
Donation protected
APRIL 12:2021.
I would just like to thank everyone who donated to helping Eric fight his battle with multiple myeloma. It was a broken heart that I share Eric lost his battle with this devastating cancer on March 1, 2021, after 18 months. Because of your kind donations, we were able to give Eric the best treatment possible incorporating integrative therapies along with conventional treatments. Unfortunately, the cancer was too aggressive, and he passed peacefully at home in my arms. He spent the last week in the hospital but his greatest wish was to come home. And he did. Now he is at peace and home with God.
Eric was an amazing, compassionate man. He was my greatest adventure. He is loved and missed by so many.
Eric lived a good life and lived it to the fullest. He faced his cancer head-on with courage, never once saying "why me."
So all those who loved this amazing man must continue to embrace life with courage, living each day the best way we know-how.
I am truly devasted by the loss of my greatest love, and I take life minute by minute, drawing on Eric's love and courage to do my best each day.
God Bless & Love,
Janice

Eric was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in August of 2019. Multiple myeloma is a cancer of plasma cells. Normal plasma cells are found in the bone marrow and are an important part of the immune system. The immune system is made up of several types of cells that work together to fight infections and other diseases. Unfortunately, it is not curable at this time but is manageable for a while with treatment.
Last year, he underwent a rigorous program of chemotherapy for six months finally culminating in a stem cell transplant last January. The transplant was intended to eliminate all existing myeloma cells for 5 to 10 years before the progression of the disease was to continue. Unfortunately, 6 months after the transplant, a more aggressive myeloma appeared and he is undergoing another chemo treatment protocol to try and control it.
The ACA (Affordable Care Act), that the Trump administration is trying to kill, has been very helpful in assisting with all the costs of the "standard care" treatment from the hospital and oncology department. Just to give you some sense of the costs involved, only one of the 3 chemo drugs he is taking has a retail of $19,500/month.
With the recurrence of a more aggressive myeloma, Eric and Janice (his fiancee) have been directed by one of her doctors, Dr. George Zabrecky, to add additional therapies to the standard of care to help fight this cancer. It's an alternative treatment that acts as anti-cancer agents. The problem is that these treatments, at about $2000/week, are not covered by any insurance. As Eric cannot work at this time and Janice is acting as a caregiver, neither has been able to earn income to cover this additional cost. This goal is to cover the 12-week treatment plan that is the current recommendation.
Therefore, we are asking for donations to help them during this trying time. Anything you can contribute would be greatly appreciated.
