Hi, My name is W. I am 21 years old.
We are deciding to reach out for support during an incredibly difficult time for our family. Dad was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer, and recently his condition has become far more serious. Around February, he was admitted to Intensive Therapy Unit (ITU) for going into a life-threatening state called septic shock.
During an X-Ray, doctors discovered two “holes” that caused food to leak from his trachea and into his lungs, causing sepsis and organ failure. This required immediate intervention and four major surgeries. He has now been in the Intensive Therapy Unit (ITU) for over two months fighting to recover. He is also suffering from other complications such as pneumonia, pulmonary embolism and dialysis.
Throughout this journey, I am really proud of my dad for his strength and resilience in battling his medical complications. As a person, he is the kindest and most hardworking person I know, being my role model growing up. He has went through various forms of treatment including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, diet restrictions, and tons of medications that causes harmful side effects. We have spent a tremendous amount of money on medical costs as we want the best form of treatment for him. Doctors have also described him as a really strong man, who has fought bravely through his tough times. They are amazed by how well he has held on to hope by not giving up until now. However, this long and difficult journey has placed an enormous financial strain on our family. Life outside the hospital has become increasingly difficult to manage. Between constant hospital visits, emotional stress, and trying to keep everything else afloat, we are doing everything we can to stay strong for him.
Furthermore, we own a small property that my partner and I manage, but since my dad has became critically ill, I had to step away to support my family and be present at the hospital in another country. My partner is now doing everything alone — trying to keep the manage the property while covering the work of two people. She has to work night shifts in the hospital while running the property in the day. She is mentally and emotionally drained from the workload, lacking sleep and quality of life. No one should deserve to be living this way. Managing daily operations has become overwhelming over the course of two months due to the lack of manpower.
Rent, along with household bills and other living costs are constantly running. With the ongoing medical crisis and the business struggling to stay afloat, the financial strain is becoming more difficult to manage each day.
We are asking for help so that we can:
- Manage the property while our family focuses on our dad’s recovery
- Cover rent and essential household bills
- Relieve some of the financial pressure during this extremely challenging time
Any donation, no matter how small, would mean the world to us. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this story would also help tremendously. Your kindness and support will allow our family to focus on what matters most right now — being there for our dad as he continues his fight. We would love him to return home as the same person he was before.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for any support you are able to give.
