Fighting for Cindy's Victory.

As many of you know Cindy was transported to Mercy ER on February 25th. With her husband Dan and Daughter Ashley by her side, she was diagnosed with a heart attack and collapsed lung. She was immediately transferred to St. Vincent's where she was treated and ended up staying for 5 days. Her many doctors included specialist in Pulmary, Oncology and Cardiology. During these 5 days multiple tests, imaging, lab work, etc were done. A total of 3.7 liters of fluid was drained from her lung.
After days of exhausting testing the worst possible news came that no one wants to hear - inoperable stage 4 metastatic cancer.
Not long after the news was shared and tears were shed, Cindy became very determined that she could beat this diagnosis. The battle for her very being had just begun, no option but victory.
After being discharged with home oxygen and breathing treatments, the follow-up appointments were made with the main 3 doctors - oncologist, cardiologist and the pulmonary doctor.
The first visit with the oncologist within days of being released brought more negative news. Cindy's particular cancer was caused by a gene mutation. It was advanced. Chemo, radiation and immunotherapy were no longer an option for her. The doctor gave her only months to live without treatment. After more appointments and testing a return to the oncologist brought a glimmer of hope. A targeted genetic treatment specifically intended for her type of cancer. Cindy never once gave up hope as funding and grants were arranged by Mercy for this treatment that was $20,000 per month. Thank God.
In the months that have followed, Cindy has had ups and downs. She has had to have her lung drained two more times for a total of 6 total liters of cancerous fluids. Her main tumor has continued to grow slightly, but the oncologist has agreed to continue the treatment for now.
That brings us to today. Cindy has been an independent contractor for years, which means no sick days, no vacation days, self insured. She of course had to quit working completely, absolutely no income.
The main reason for this fundraiser is for Cindy to be able to keep up her fight which she feels in her heart will end in victory. She will use your generous gifts for the needed alternative treatments that conventional medicine cannot deliver, medical bills, medicine and needed supplements, insurance, second opinions and out of network doctors and the cost of everyday living expenses.
Everything is greatly appreciated. Thoughts, prayers and even your kind words mean everything to her.
Please consider helping Cindy win her battle by donating to her cause. Again, she is very determined and has a goal to pay it forward someday.
Thank you and God bless you all.
