My daughter, Jessica, is the girl that everyone would want as a daughter. She is sweet, kind, caring, smart, hard working, and she is my best friend. She is also an amazing mother to Olivia and a wonderful wife to Jeremy. Everyone loves Jessica. I just can't say enough about her.
Jessica and our family have a lot of pride, and this may be one of the most difficult things that we have had to do. But we need your help.
Jessica discovered she was pregnant. Yay! However, early in February 2020, she was diagnosed with Stage I invasive ductal carcinoma breast cancer. If it wasn't for the keen eye of her obstetrician, we would never have known. Most women at 32 don't even think about this. This little baby boy saved her life.
Jessica is now 5 months pregnant and must undergo a mastectomy and then shortly thereafter, chemotherapy. Yes, they do chemotherapy during pregnancy. It's still a little scary for us. She will be receiving 4 rounds of chemo over the course of 8 weeks before the birth of our little warrior, and then must continue for 12 more weeks after the birth.
We pray everyday for Jessica and her little boy. Jessica is also under the care of a high risk obstetrician due to the cancer diagnosis. Her doctor has also discovered for other reasons due to stress that she is at a high risk for a preterm labor. The doctor monitors her weekly for this issue and we pray the situation doesn't get worse.
This unfathomable diagnosis has caused a great deal of stress for Jessica, Jeremy and the family. As Jessica is undergoing surgery next week for the removal of her breast, she will no longer be working to contribute financially to the household. Jeremy is needed at home to assist in the caregiving of Jessica and 1-1/2 year old Olivia, but that proves to be difficult as they need some kind of income. Jessica and Jeremy will need help with all the usual household expenses (mortgage, medical expenses, utilities, groceries, gas, baby supplies, etc.).
Perhaps, if we can raise enough money to help alleviate the financial stresses of this situation, we can just concern ourselves on the care of Jessica and her baby. So, please, even if it's only a couple of dollars - any little bit will help our family. Thank you in advance for your consideration in helping Jessica, Jeremy, Olivia, and Baby Warrior.
