Fighting for Ashlee

Hi, My name is Heather Brown. My daughter Ashlee is a cancer survivor and 3 time liver transplant recipient. Recently she got sick with COVID, and again with another respiratory virus, and her liver began failing. She has developed an autoimmune disorder that has ravaged her body.

Unfortunately Ashlee is a poor candidate for a liver transplant and most likely will not be permitted to receive one. If they do attempt it, we are being told that she has less than a 50% chance of surviving the surgery.

Currently she is admitted to a hospital near Salt Lake City, away from all of her family in Vegas and California. She has been going back and forth between the ICU and the liver transplant floor as her status has been changing frequently. A few days ago we were called to fly emergently to Utah to say goodbye to her. Somehow she pulled through that night, but she is by no means out of the woods.

She needs a family member with her at all times as she is frequently confused. Her father drove straight to SLC when Ashlee was medivac'd there. We are looking at weeks, if not months, of needing a hotel room and a rental car for the family member who is here, and travel costs for switching family members out. Additionally food and incidentals add up. We are looking for help to raise money to help us to keep someone there to advocate and care for Ashlee.
