Fighting Crohn’s Disease: Help Me Afford Life-Saving Surgery

Hi, my name is Luke, and I’m living with severe Crohn’s disease. I never imagined I’d be in this position, but I’m reaching out for help during one of the most difficult times in my life.

For the past few years, Crohn’s has completely turned my world upside down. I’ve been in and out of the hospital more times than I can count, dealing with constant flare-ups, complications such as two colon perforations with the resulting abscesses, which both required hospital stays and months of antibiotic therapy, and pain that makes it hard to live a normal life. Some days, even getting out of bed feels impossible.

My recent MRI results revealed two high-risk areas that can cause life threatening complications, so my doctors told me I need an extensive surgery in order to manage the damage this disease has done to my body. This surgery is my best—and possibly only—chance at feeling better and getting my life back. But it comes with a heavy financial burden that I simply can’t carry alone.

Between the cost of the surgery, hospital stays, medications, travel to see specialists, and recovery, I’m overwhelmed. Insurance only goes so far, and I have already stretched every resource I have trying to keep up with the constant medical bills.
