Christine Meade was diagnosed with cancer of the appendix in June 2018 and has had several major surgeries over the last six years. Christine and her family are long-standing members of the Richmond Hill community. She has devoted her life to serving others, especially children in the foster care system. She and her husband Robbie adopted three duaghters from China. They are members of First Baptist Church Richmond Hill, where she has continued to spread joy despite her ongoing battle with cancer. Her cancer has spread and developed a protective coating that makes it difficult for chemo and other medications to kill the cancer. She has found a doctor in Pittsburgh that has agreed to go in and remove as much of the cancer as possible, which will include removing some essential organs. While the doctor has decided to take her on as a patient, he has warned her that this will be the hardest surgery that she has ever had and the recovery will be a long road ahead of her. After coming this far, with confidence that God has plans for her, Christine is ready to face this step in her fight. She believes in the power of prayer and continues to trust in God, finding peace in Him. She wants to do all she can to beat this cancer and live her life for Christ with husband and daughters. She and Robbie will be staying in Pittsburgh for at least a month as she undergoes this surgery. Please join us in praying daily for her and consider donating to raise money for their travel and medical expenses.
