Evan was diagnosed with Burkitt Lymphoma stage 4 Cancer.

A couple weeks ago it started with a mouth sore and some fevers and a high temp. We thought it was hand-foot-and-mouth for awhile then thought it was herpes then they thought it was mycoplasma or mono for a while we were going back and forth to doctors every other day and the fevers would just persist. He also had major back pain and low belly pain and it would just come and go and the doctors were attributing that to the joint pain that mono can cause.

Finally  Wednesday Jan 16th he had one of his attacks in the Dr office and she witnessed it and said I think we need to evaluate further but pretty sure that it's a viral infection. When we got to the hospital the hospitalist just said I want to consult Hematology Oncology Department and they got an abdominal ultrasound which then required a CAT scan which showed that he had multiple multiple something inside of his body, they didn't call it a tumor at that point. Yesterday Thursday Jan 17th we had a lung thoratensis, then they read that fluid and he had bone marrow biopsies. Both of them showed this type of cancer. Today he was supposed to just have a simple procedure to get his broviac line in but because the cancer has made his abdomen so large it's pushed up his lung tissue and he's no longer able to oxygenate on his own.

Currently he is in the PICU intubated on the oscillator.  He is struggling to breath and fighting the vent. They have increased his sedation which seems to be helping.

Now it's just time -- time to start chemotherapy and get those tumors shrunk so that they can let his lungs re expand and he can breathe on his own again.

Evan will be spending the next 6-7 month in the hospital undergoing Chemotherapy to fight this cancer. We will be here every step of the way... He is a fighter and will kick this cancer.

Thank you all so much for praying for our little man and we just believe that God is going to heal this make this go away soon. I'll share more later as far as the chemotherapy plan but for now we're in the picu and we're waiting to get off the vent.
