Help me fight Stage 4 Cancer for my three sons.

As you all are aware, I’ve been dealing with health issues the past year. On March 3rd, 2024, I was supposed to go with Ariel and Trenton to the Monster Jam in Chicago for a fun-filled day, but unfortunately, the night before, I had thrown my back out at a wedding Ariel and I attended in Illinois. So instead of experiencing our first Monster Jam, I was in so much pain I had them drop me off at the hospital. I had told Ariel that Trenton was looking forward to this for weeks and to just go because I knew how upset he would be if he missed it. So I stayed back at the hospital and they ran a few tests: X-ray, MRI, CT Scan, etc. I’ve thrown my back out a few times over the years, so this was nothing new to me. After all the tests and still no answers, I was starting to feel uneasy. Well, the doctor finally came in and let me know that he had been sending the results of my tests back and forth with another doctor and that together they saw what they believed to be metastatic cancer (which is cancer that has spread from the original spot to somewhere else in the body) in my sacrum, which is the large triangular bone at the base of the spine that forms the back wall of the pelvis. I was alone and was just told I have cancer, so you could probably imagine what I was going through. The next step was to be released from the ER and they had made me appointments to get further testing done. After having more testing done, it was determined that the cancer had started in my right lung where they found a pretty big-sized mass and I was officially diagnosed with Stage 4 Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer. There was cancer in my lungs, brain, lymph nodes, and sacrum (in lower back). So for the next few months, I went through chemotherapy, radiation, and I’m currently taking a pill daily. Every appointment I went to after, I was told that the cancer was shrinking smaller and smaller. I had got to a point where I was in partial remission. I was told there was nothing left in the lymph nodes, nothing left in the brain, and very little left in the lungs and sacrum. Unfortunately, last month I was told it was back in the brain and that the mass in the right lung was increasing again. So now I have switched my care from Northwest Health to University of Chicago Medical. I've met with the doctor and we're going to begin making our plan of what is to come with a team of specialists. I will continue to fight this and find a way to beat it. One day at a time. Thank you to everyone who has been by my side so far along this journey and thank you to the ones who took the time to read this and donate. I’m a fighter and I’m not going out that easy. I have 3 boys who need a father in their life and I promise you it will be me.
