We all have people in our lives who are just “Good People”. They’re so caring and reliable that sometimes we inadvertently forget how much we rely on them and how invaluable they are. They’re inspirational. My name is Noreen Bouley and that’s how I feel about my housekeeper, Amy Kimbrell, who owns Southern Sparkle Cleaning in Fort Mill, South Carolina.
Amy is honest, hardworking, loyal and optimistic. She takes great pride in the work that she (and her mom, who works with her) do for their clients. But she is an independent business person, and when she doesn’t work, she doesn’t get paid. A few weeks ago she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. During surgery further complications were found, and while she is expected to make a full recovery, her doctor needs her to rest for 8-10 weeks. This is what she NEEDS to do, but Amy’s not really considering it because: she has two teenage daughters to support, her mom needs the weekly income, she can’t afford to hire a “substitute” to help, and she doesn’t want to disappoint her clients.
This Go-Fund-Me is being set up to allow Amy to slow down and think of herself first for once! Donations will go to keep the business running in her absence, allow Amy to continue to support her kids, and help with the extraordinary medical bills.
Those of you who have a housekeeper like Amy appreciate what I’m saying. I’m hoping that people will make even a small donation in appreciation of the hard working housekeeper, hairstylist, lawn care person, etc. that you know and value in your life. If you donate, please mention that person so that we can also appreciate them! Any amount helps! Let’s help Amy take care of herself, while keeping her family and her business intact.
