Kim's Fight Against Cancer

Kim is 26 years old and is fighting Cancer (Large B-Cell non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma)
The other day I received the saddest news from one of my closest friends, Kim Nguyen, when she told me she had been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called Large B-Cell non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Her version is especially rare and aggressive, located in the primary mediastinal area, and happens when lymphoma cells build up between the lungs and behind the breastbone. Because this cancer is fast-growing and needs to be treated quickly, she’ll require aggressive chemotherapy that is known to be very effective and usually responds well to treatment.
Kim is beautiful and young, and about to turn 27 at the end of September. She was just accepted into nursing school and planned on starting her nursing program in September as well, but chemotherapy will unfortunately delay that.
Sometimes in life you find a special friend, someone who changes your life just by being a part of it. If you know Kim, you already know the beautiful soul that she is, inside and out. She is an incredible person who amazes me on a daily basis. She is someone who is kind and compassionate. She is someone who makes you laugh endlessly, who makes you believe that there really is good in the world. She’s a best friend who seeks to help with your problems, who is always there to help during difficult times. Friendship is truly a priceless relationship in this world which can never be bought or sold to anyone. It depends on the true love created in the heart of people involved in the friendship. It never depends on the materialistic pleasures of the world. A friend is a gift you give to yourself. It’s a relation of love and affection towards other people… and that is all of what Kim is, not just to me but to everyone around her.
The fight against cancer goes on. We all know or have met someone who is fighting or has fought cancer, and who has battled this terrible illness. THIS IS TIME SENSITIVE, as she will be starting chemo in the end of August!
Our goal is to raise $50,000 to help Kim fight this cancer. I ask for your love and support, whether you know Kim, have met Kim, know friends of Kim, or have experienced cancer yourself. This may not be enough but it is certainly something--- and even if you can give just $20, it’s something. Her parents lost their eldest son over a decade ago, and I cannot imagine their fear of losing another child when we can help fight this. This is our way of showing her and her family, THEY ARE NOT ALONE and have our ENTIRE love and support during this journey. Thank you all!
