My Mom, Barb Schuh was a dedicated nurse who had been caring for the elderly and infirm in assisted living and skilled nursing facilities for over 25 years. She was known for her compassion, kindness, and unwavering commitment to her patients.

However, despite her years of hard work and dedication, Barb was recently placed on involuntary non-paid medical leave from her job due to a devastating diagnosis: cancer. She unfortunately had no Short or Long Term Disability or PTO when her employer placed her in this status. This devastating news was made even worse by the fact that Barb was battling this illness during the height of the COVID pandemic, putting her weakened immune system at even greater risk, but her patients came first.

Despite her challenging circumstances, Barb has never lost her love for her patients or her desire to help those in need. However, with no income coming in and mounting medical bills, Barb and her family are struggling to make ends meet. She also is in danger of losing her health insurance which is what is allowing her to get treatment.
