My name is Tina Burnell, and I’m being sued by Louisville Metro Council — not because I broke the law, but because I spoke about their closed door meeting and backroom deal - and they want to SILENCE ME!
On June 26, 2025, I alerted Metro Council leadership and the Jefferson County Attorney’s Office that I intended to file a formal complaint with the Attorney General’s Office about things that went on during a special closed door meeting behind the public's back. I made this decision carefully, with integrity, and in full transparency — and I explicitly stated that I was providing notice of my intent to protect myself against retaliation.
Their response?
On August 1, they filed a lawsuit against me.
This is what government retaliation looks like. Instead of addressing serious concerns, they’ve chosen to use the legal system to intimidate, silence, and punish me.
I’m not a politician. I’m a citizen demanding accountability — and for that, I’ve become a target.
Now, I’m facing legal fees I never asked for, simply for exercising my rights and refusing to stay silent. This fundraiser will help cover the costs of legal representation and ensure I can fight back with strength and resolve.
